She was describing this what-have-I-done feeling – I just got everything perfect in my life, and then I went and messed it all up by having a baby. I don’t feel that way anymore, but the thought certainly crossed my mind a few times at the beginning. Eventually you just fall in love and forget about everything else, but it’s not a very comfortable transition. I compare the process to becoming a vampire, your old self dies in a sad and painful way, but then you come out the other side with immortality, super strength and a taste for human blood. At least that’s how it was for me. At any rate, it’s complicated.”

- Jonathan Coulton (I didn’t understand what this meant when I first heard the quote, but now I do.)

ilovecharts:

This is Jeff Wysaski from Pleated-Jeans reporting for guest blogging duty.
Today, I’ll be sharing a few of my own charts (including the one above), as well as some new and classic ones from other talented chartists. Trust me, it’s going to be awesome. So, enough chit-chat…let’s do this!

At that point I realized she doesn’t really understand blogging or the concept of public access to personal information. It made me really happy she’d never signed up for a Facebook account.

There are a lot of people, however, who have signed up and still don’t get it. And still more who apparently think that being a character on a giant semi-real-life version of the Sims is fun.
